About Us

With over 40 years' experience in the construction industry, J Renton Groundworks is a well-established North-East business. Owned by second-generation Rentons, we are committed to the high levels of quality, reliability and value-for-money set by the founder, John Renton.

We are skilled in all aspects of groundwork from site preparation to designing driveways and patios, and from installing reinforced foundations to laying floor slabs and drainage.

Our customers range from private home-owners to large commercial organisations. We are a preferred contractor to Bellway Homes, one of Britain's top four house-building companies who have recognised our work with a 'Pride in the Job' Quality Award.

Why do customers choose us? We are perfectionists. We thoroughly research a job before starting work, thus avoiding costly problems later. We use good quality materials. We keep customers updated throughout the project. We have exacting standards. We complete jobs on time, on budget and to specification. And we're tidy.

We have a full-time workforce of skilled plant operators and labourers, many of whom have been with us for over 10 years. All are trained to NVQ levels in their particular skills. When necessary, we can call on a small group of tried-and-tested sub-contractors who all work to our exacting standards.

Latest Projects

Our working area covers the North East up to the Scottish border, west to Cumbria and south to Wearside. However, we are willing to consider projects outside this area.
